Exhibition Walkthroughs with Halo-halo

Visit Stephanie Comilang: An Apparition, A Song during West Side Fest 2025—a three-day celebration of arts and culture on Manhattan’s West Side. On Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13, the Filipino dessert halo-halo (“mix-mix”) will be served from 2–4pm, followed by exhibition walkthroughs at 4pm both days.

Made with colorful layers of shaved ice, purple ube ice cream, sweetened beans, coconut strips, jellies, and plantains, halo-halo evokes syncretic identities, shaped by Indigenous roots and colonial and diasporic influences. Halo-halo will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis while ingredients last.

The closest wheelchair accessible subway is the 14th Street/8th Avenue station. The entrance to CARA is ADA-compliant, and our bookstore and galleries are barrier free throughout, with all-gender, wheelchair accessible restrooms. CARA has wheelchairs available for guest use. Please request one in advance via bookstore@cara-nyc.org. Service animals are welcome.
